Short biography

Rong Zhou is now a PhD trainee in the lab. She received her MD/MS from Wenzhou Medical University in 2008. After graduation, she got a Research associate position in Vision Science Research Center, Case Western Reserve University, working on mouse model of corneal infection. Afterwards she worked as an Ophthalmologist in Affiliated eye hospital of Wenzhou medical University since 2010. In clinic, she worked in Retina division, and routinely performed laser treatment and intravitreal injection for patients. Besides she participated in a number of global multicenter clinical trials on anti-VEGF therapy. In 2014, she got the research fellow position in Boston Children's Hospital for 1 year, working on mouse model of laser-induced choroidal neovascularization.

Research directions

▪ The role of genetics in progression of Dry Age-related Macular Degeneration to CNV

▪ Exploring novel molecular mechanism and therapy in ocular neovascular disorders using animal model.
